A cross-species friendship between a dog and a lamb makes us think biological boundaries may be a figment of the imagination.

The boisterous pair has an incredibly spirited play session together, regardless of identity.

The pup springs up and surprises the lamb. To keep the game going, the dog rolls over a ball ...... and the lamb, in response, gleefully tumbles over the dog and ball. The dog nuzzles the lamb. And the lamb nuzzles the dog. Now that's friendship.

NOTE: Videos of unlikely animal pairs romping or snuggling have become so common that they are piquing the interest of some scientists, who say they invite more systematic study. Among other things, researchers say, the alliances could add to an understanding of how species communicate, what propels certain animals to connect across species lines and the degree to which some animals can adopt the behaviors of other species.

Rescued Lamb Pichu Relaxing In The Hammock

A lamb named Pichu almost didn't survive to live the calm and quiet life he adorably deserves.

Tragically, Pichu's mom died during childbirth, leaving him without someone to care for him during his early vulnerable stages as a baby. Because the farmer who owned Pichu's mother did not want to devote the energy to bring him up, he decided his only option was to slaughter the little lamb.

Luckily, a relative of the farmer visited Pichu and demanded that the little lamb keep his life. She found Pichu a forever home at Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary in Spain. Only four days old when he came to live at the sanctuary, Pichu is now growing into a happy and healthy ram at two months old.

Pichu is so lucky to live with other rescued farm animals at the sanctuary.

A farmer has captured the adorable moment a duckling groomed a lamb's woollen coat in a 'heartwarming sign of trust and friendship'.

Videoed enjoying the sunshine outside, the lamb named Winter stands very still with its head lowered towards the baby duck.

Walking around to the front of the lamb, the duck begins pecking away at the lamb's head and neck as if grooming its woollen coat.

Clearly enjoying the attention, the lamb keeps its head lowered as the pecking appears to become slightly more erratic.

The lamb appears as though it is about to walk away when it drops to the ground and allows the duck to continue. The lamb’s owner said: ‘What could be mistaken as pecking is actually a heartwarming sign of trust and friendship.
