Heaven meets the Earth in this moving time-lapse video showing gorgeous landscapes underneath an ever-changing night sky.

“Within Two Worlds” was created by photographer Brad Goldpaint. The film features shooting comets, a giant tilting Milky Way, and glowing purple and pink auroras peeking over the horizon.

Stunning sequences watch day turn to night and night to day, as overhead stars shine their beautiful light above mountains, forests, and waterfalls.

It appears you are traveling in the midst of a dream, half-sleeping, half-waking, and touching the arch connecting heaven and earth."

I discovered my passion for photography shortly after my mother’s passing while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) 3 years ago. This time-lapse video is my visual representation of how the night sky and landscapes co-exist within a world of contradictions. Fly through both space and time with this amazing new time-lapse video, showing beautiful star trails and city lights streaking over the Earth’s surface as seen from space.

Photographer Christoph Malin from Austria created the stunning film by stacking image sequences taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

The results show off incredible patterns of light as the ISS zooms by. Along with the man-made metropolises, viewers can catch a glimpse of lightning corridors flashing within clouds, green auroras, satellite tracks, meteors, and even a quick appearance by the famous sun-diving comet Lovejoy (at about 1:42).

Malin said he was inspired to make the video because of his love of space and the view from mankind’s outpost in the heavens.

He had seen other videos using ISS footage and, wanting to add something beautiful himself, he fired up some special software, “grabbed me a Red Bull, and worked through a night and 1 terabyte of ISS data.

” The end result can be enjoyed by people all over the world and hopefully inspire further creative work honoring space science.

Goldpaint's three-minute time-lapse, titled "Within Two Worlds," features three years' worth of sky imagery collected from a variety of locales — including Tumalo Falls, the Three Sisters Wilderness, Crater Lake and Sparks Lake in Oregon, as well as the High Sierra, Mono Lake and Mount Shasta in California.
