We -- the wolf and the first peoples -- have within us a key to the future of this country and, indeed, the world. A truth instilled by adversity. A truth both ancient and new.

Milenniums ago we both roamed freely. We did not destroy the land or contaminate the water or foul the air. Our populations did not exceed the physical world's ability to support us. We each had a place in the natural order, the Great Circle of Life, and we kept our places. Nor did we unduly or self-righteously interfere with any other species.

The new, more recent truth comes from having stood on the brink of extinction. It is simple and frightening. The actions, attitudes, and policies by which Indians and wolves are "controlled" are the same that are applied to the land, air, water -- attitudes and policies that have deep roots in arrogance, ignorance, and apathy when they should be based on truth, understanding, and compassion.

For the sake of the world, we pray that non-Indians and non-wolves will see these truths. And if these truths are seen and accepted, then we will all know that there is a natural order still, no matter how much we may have allowed technology and anthropocentrism to hide it from us.

I have had the opportunity to share my life with three wolves over the years. The only time I had any problems was when they were eating. When someone came in the yard they did nor know they would run and watch from a distance. They have always been good with kids and the elderly
They are wonderful and mysterious animals. I wish that they would stop killing the wolves and let them live in peace

I enjoyed this video a great deal and will be looking for more by this engaging man. I have been engaged in hybrid rescue since I was 14 (now 45) & have hd the privilege of sharing my life with several beautiful souls. I am also fortunate to now to be able to volunteer at a zoo where we breed red wolves (and have from the original survivors) and begin the path for their release to reintroduction to the wild! (As we do Sciminter Horned Oryx to Africa) It is SO sad how pervasive the myths and misconceptions about wolves truly is -to as well as how distorted they have become. The have also led to this hybridization problem - with people WANTING wolves as pets!!! Wolves remain wild animals. I am sorry. I have known several in my life that I love dearly. Yes, they loved children -if... If...IF...IF they were brought up as a wolf with people as the alpha. People ALWAYS THE ALPHA.... ALWAYS ... you cannot treat a wolf OR A HYBRID like a dog as you would a lab or a rottweiler... and people do... and the animals pay the price... always the animals pay the price... our rescues... the ones that we can still manage... the ones that are still 'salvagable'... are listed with the vet as mixes... wolves or wolf hybrids in most states have a strike law... one bite and they are put down. No matter the reason. Someone reaches into their pen, puts their hand through the window into the car, breaks up a dogfight... the animal will die...

Thank you so much.. I love wolves and I know that all wolves are special. My grandson ask me that when he gets 16 years old if he could have a wolf for his friend, he was 5 years old when he asked this and he is 8 years old now, he reminds me that when he is 16 years old that I have to get him a wolf dog for his friend to take care of. Thank you for the information on the wolves.
    thank you again.

Thank you, for sharing. The video, clearly brought back an experience I had with Wolves, in the Black Hills, South Dakota. I went there to pray for healing of Multiple Sclerosis. In the evening, as I prayed and sobbed a group of Wolves, came and encircled me, they howled as I continued to pray and sob. My health has greatly improved since. A few years later, I learned my Grandmother, was full blood Akwesasne, from the Wolf Clan. I had never known this before, as my Grandmother, died before I was born. The Wolves, gave me much, their Spirit is always with me. I am filled with gratitude. I do everything I can, in the protection of the beautiful Wolves.
