...in which a wolf, paralyzed and exhausted, is being saved from the icy waters of a river. ...Unfortunately Navarre doesn't breathe and his heart has stopped beating.

After intermninable minutes Navarre chooses to live.
We ask for hospitality to those who found Navarre to dry and warm him before the long journey to the Monte Adone Rescue Centre. Navarre spends the first days of intensive care at the Monte Adone Rescue Center.
After he got over the most critical moments Navarre is brought to San Michele Hospital for several diagnostic exams.
While waiting to return in freedom Navarre is recovering at the Monte Adone Rescue Centre, where is being monitored day and night without being disturbed thanks to an internal video camera.
Let's give back the animals the dignity and respect they deserve.
The story of the wolf Navarre is part of the project of serial documentary Animal Chronicles by Andrea Dalpian.

Since 1989, the Monte Adone Centre for Conservation and Research of Exotic and Wild Fauna (NPO - Voluntary Association) rescues, cures and rehabilitates the injured indigenous wildlife animals found on the territory of Bologna province (Emilia Romagna Region, Italy) in order to reintroduce them in nature. Moreover the Monte Adone Center welcomes the exotic animal species sequestered because of their illegal trading, detention and mistreatment (centrotutelafauna.org).

On January 9, 2012 the wolf Navarre was recovered from the icy waters of a river in very dramatic conditions: undernourished, with a paralysis of the hind limbs and with 35 lead pellets in his body.
After several diagnostic tests, two weeks of intensive care in the infirmary, monitored 24 hours 24, Navarre started to walk. He was transferred to another enclosure of the Centre, suitable for his rehabilitation, which requires a gradual recovery of motor function without subjecting him to excessive physical effort. Thanks to a video camera placed in the enclosure Navarre is monitored day and night without being disturbed.
It's still a long way, various diseases have weakened him a lot, but Navarre, thanks to his incredible will to live and care he received, started to walk improving gradually and giving good signs of recovery.

So many are willing to save and love God's majestic creatures and yet there are so many willing to pay to get a license to kill these creatures for sport and there pelts. I pray the Lord will make these people face these awesome ones when they reach the end of their lives.

Such a beautiful animal!! I am so taken by the fact that even though she is in pain and she is scared, she doesn't try to attack those who are helping her, she knows they are no threat to her. I had a beautiful rescue wolf years ago, she was 1/2 Mountain wolf and 1/2 Timber wolf, she was the absolute BEST animal I ever had!! So gentle yet so protective of our family. She watched over the little ones like they were her own, and if she thought they were doing something that could get them hurt, she would either tug their clothes to move them away or come get me to do something. She would run to me when I came back in the house from being gone even just a few minutes to get the mail, she would have this great big grin and would jump up and wrap her paws around my neck, and bend down to lick my face like I had been gone for years! (standing, she was over 6 ft tall!) She had one brown eye, and one blue eye that had marbled brown in it, her coat was rough yet so soft! She's been gone over the Rainbow Bridge for many, many years now, but I still think of her everyday, and miss her terribly! I even got a tattoo of her, so I can spread her story to others. She was taken by some fool, from the wild, from her home, and rescued when she got bigger than they could handle. I am proud to have been part of her 'pack' in her final years, she taught me so much, she gave me so much! RIP Misfit, until we reunite over the Bridge!!! Thank you to all those who love and care for these incredible animals!! More people need to care about our wildlife, our animals who deserve to run free!! Thank God for those who care for them when they can't anymore!!

I cried! These animals are so majestic & yet here in the United States, many states have an active wolf hunting policy in spite of the efforts of many groups to reintroduce them to their native territories. Evidently these animals are only safe on Native American reservations where the Native American has "autonomy"!!! Whether on sight or from the air these beautiful wolves can be shot on unprotected lands. How sad!!

I cried while watching this God Bless all of the people that took such good care of him. A big Thank You from a wolf lover. This wolf is is much more beautiful and deserves all the respect that he received. I won't say that for those who shot ay this magnificent wolf. I might have to add that I feel so strongly about these wolves that if the gun was turned the other way I would add a few more pellets. Disgusting vile people he was already struggling to survive and you forced him in icy waters to suffer an agonizing death. God Bless those who showed so much respect and dignity to one of Gods most beautiful creations. I can't say the same for those who chased him mercilesslyand almost caused his demise. KARMA....

Bless all those who cared for this beautiful animal ,and thank you White Wolf for sharing the story ........

Sadly he passed away about six months later. The damage from being shot and having more than 30 lead pellets in his body was too much.

God bless the rescuers/keepers of the four legged
