WATCH: Real Life Teddy Bear Plays Around With Tourist In Adorable Video
A video of an utterly adorable baby bear roughhousing with a visitor is going viral this week after being picked up by YouTube channel, "Meanwhile In Russia."
Reportedly filmed in a Russian wilderness park, the cub, no larger than a puppy, can be seen chasing the unidentified man in circles, nipping at his hand and locking paws around his leg.
The cub may not yet know the potentially aggressive behavior of its full-grown counterparts, but if the man's periodic squeals of pain are any indication, its little teeth were already plenty sharp.
By the time it reaches maturity, however, this furry cub could weigh as much as a ton and stand up to 10 feet tall, according to National Geographic.
Russia is host to several species of brown bears of varying fur color and size. (The YouTube video calls the bear a "grizzly," but grizzlies aren't native to Russia.)
In 2010, the country's bear population was relatively stable with its 120,000 to 140,000 bears at most risk from enthusiastic hunting practices, according to the Guardian. In 2011, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) announced new regulations that reduced the hunting period allowable for males and prohibited hunting mothers and cubs. (Source)
