On Monday at 11:23 AM, the first day of school for the Northern School District, Carroll Township Police were called to the playground of the Northern Elementary School for an owl trapped in a soccer net.
It was unknown how long the owl was caught in the net, but with the help of Northern School District school staff, Carroll township Police and the PA. Game Commission the owl was released from the net and set free.
Children from the school were kept inside of the school until the owl was released. The owl appeared to be uninjured and was able to fly from the scene.
Then on the second day of school, Tuesday, at 7:38 AM Carroll Township Police were called again for another owl caught in the same soccer net in the same playground of the Northern Elementary School.
Northern School District employees, Carroll Township Police and Wildlife Conservation Officer Kyle Jury of the Pa Game Commission again rescued the owl that had been tangled in the soccer net, but this was not the same owl that had been caught the day before but a different owl.
For the second time in two days the owl was released from the net and was then transported to an undisclosed location to be released.(Article Via Yorkdispatch.com )

I think I'd take the Soccer net down when not in use.
Poor Owls...I think the net should be taken down, put back up when needed..
I agree, take the net down when not in use.
Teach the school kids to "problem solve" and let them come to the conclusion to take the net down, and only put it up while they use it. This will teach them to think about solutions and to care about wildlife.
