November 18, 2012

The camera will be live streaming daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST.

This is the first stage of transition to web streaming cameras. This is the same camera used for the Pup Cam in the Wolf Yard during the summer of 2012. This transition plans include a streaming camera for Shadow and Malik, Grizzer and a 2nd streaming camera for the Exhibit Pack.

Thank you for your patience while they replace all of the still cameras with streaming cameras. If you would like to support this transition, please consider a donation to the Wolf Care Fund noting your donation in support of web streaming.

Shadow, an Arctic subspecies of the gray wolf, was born May 8, 2000 and is a litter mate to Malik. Shadow joined Malik in the Retired Pack on June 26th, 2010.

Malik, an Arctic subspecies of the gray wolf, was born May 8, 2000 and is a brother to Shadow. Malik is very curious wolf that shows little intimidation with strangers. He's described as easy-going by the wolf care staff and can be easily distracted by just about anything. Malik was placed in the Retired Pack in November 2009.

From time to time you may witness qualified Wolf Care Staff providing daily physical checks and veterinary care as well as maintenance to the enclosure.

For the most current information on wolves, read their wolf logs or watch weekly YouTube videos.

The International Wolf Center advances the survival of wolf populations by teaching about wolves, their relationship to wild lands and the human role in their future.

There is Nothing MAGICAL about wolves, There is Something very Natural however that does attract people to them, They are WILD animals, Instinctual killers... Born Survivors.. Love them from a distance or you may become food.

  52. Anonymous says:

is this actual live footage. is there just the one camera view

  53. This is my first time here. Thank you for providing this. But it looks so digitized I can't make out anything but digitized movement, nothing that resemble anything. Any tips?

  54. Fantastic Time. Two wolves. One black, one reddish brown running around a couple of times, howling, standing, running in and out of forest! Awesome. 4:30pm, IL time…really beautiful….

  55. CHERYL BRYANT-RUSHING: It appears more digitized when the pic is larger. when i move my screen to my TV it is hard to make them out in the distance. keep your screen smaller until they get closer to the camera and then you can make it larger. that's what works best for me, at least

  56. Can you imagine how complete this feed would be with SOUND?? I think we would all love that!

  57. dinah says:

I have watched 3 reds and 1 black sleep. Stand up lay back down sleep again for past hour! Love it

I seen the wolf walk around in a big circle yesterday, today I was watching and the wolf was sleeping in the "grass" or something in the bottom right corner. I was about to leave the site until I seen him move. I had no idea he was there. Anyways, later the birds came and ate the left overs of his meal while he took a nap. Amazing how much you can see and learn all I can say is, I am hoping to catch him bringing home a meal lol.

  69. Anonymous says:

So happy to see the camera has been repositioned Watched them run off the birds yesterday and moved their meal to a 'safer' spot. Thank you for this live cam.

  73. I see mounds of wolf and some rock. :)

  74. I am so glad to find this, due to the fact that I Love Wolves. They are beautiful wildlife animals who should be left alone to live out their natural life span, NOT TO BE SHOT AND KILLED. THANK YOU FOR SHARING TO WATCH THESE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS. <3
