Two motherless puppies have been able to find maternal tenderness with a mother Capybara, which is a species of rodent that is the largest in the world.

Her name is Cheesecake and she can even breastfeed them. In a spirit of generosity and maternal instinct, this mom Capybara adopted both puppies like they were her own babies. Cheesecake even plays with the two Dachshund puppies at the animal shelter, Rocky Ridge Refuge, where they all live. Rocky Ridge Refuge is located in the State of Arkansas in the United States.

Although images are not lacking in the animal world of such tenderness, these are a little bit more unusual with the mother figure being a Capybara. The Capybara is a species of rodent that Lives in South America. They are very social mammals that are very attached to their offspring and Capybaras are very organized when it comes to looking after their babies. Seen in this light, it is not surprising that Cheesecake took two puppies under her wing.

If in fact, the two puppies had not been a part of Rocky Ridge Refuge, it would have been very unlikely that the Capybara Mom would have done this. But at the shelter all the animals are well treated and well fed and this factor plays a very important role in the welfare of the animals and especially in their sense of trust. Thus, Cheesecake did not feel threatened by these two puppies which would have not been the case in the wild.

But these two puppies and Cheesecake are not the only animals that live in the Rocky Ridge Refuge shelter. As you can see on their Facebook page, many different kinds of animals live at the shelter. Some are domestic animals such as dogs, cats and even the tortoises. Others, however, that are not up for adoption are some donkeys, deer or even a Capybara named Cheesecake. "The Rocky Ridge Refuge is a place where all kinds of animals are treated and cared for. There are nearly 60 animals that are housed there. Some animals are permanent residents while others are waiting for a new home and can be adopted.

Moreover, the Rocky Ridge Refuge recently became famous around the world because it held the world record in the Guinness Book of World Records for one of their animals. It was because of a Watusi named Lurch, who is an East African bovine , with the largest horns of it's species in the world.

Why do people keep saying "we could learn a lesson from this"???? I don't think that there is a person on this earth that doesn't know this lesson.
Face it, WE DON'T WANT TO GET ALONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that is that.
Tribal, selfish and greedy. My way or the hi way. All that crap comes into it and it will never change. So lets enjoy the animal kingdom [as long as it can survive us] and leave our shitty species out of it.
