Dog Mourn Loss Of Her Beaver Best Friend - Sits By His Side After He Passes Away

In this very sad, yet heartwarming video, a sick-at-heart pooch is 'mourning' the death of a beloved but unlikely friend: A beaver named Beavis.

According to YouTube user "Jack Bdead" who uploaded the video, Beavis and Bella the dog had played and lived together "for quite a while" before Beavis died last year.

"Bella has been in mourning for hours," the YouTuber said.

Though first published when Beavis breathed his last in July 2012, the moving video has experienced a viral resurgence this week.

"I love it when even animals show their love for other," wrote one YouTube user on Friday after watching the clip.

"Aww, it went from cute to sad and then touching. It's a wakeup call to cherish life," wrote another.

And certain persons claim that animals have no feelings? I think that this video shows the opposite

I cried all the way threw it, as amazing, how animals, love and how they just accept each other. We have a lot to learn about this instinct and the joy of this kind of love.

Yes, so very sad. My eyes had tears watching this video. To bad Humans don't have Compassion. Animals just know. I know my Dog, Morning Dawn has compassion for me as I do for HER.

  8. Mourning the loss of his friend, it make me feel for him. Wish all of humanity sees this.

Very moving. I would like to know more about this story - when they were friends. Where did this take place, etc?

sweet Bella mourning her beaver friend Beavis--how did Beavis die? Looks like Beavis was part of the family,as the other dogs do not bother the downed Beavis while Bella keeps guard & lends solace

Amazing the compassion animals have for one another (even if different breeds of animals), I went through this when I had a goat that died and her brother stayed by his side the entire night resting his head on her while we dug the human size hole for hours, it was so sad to keep looking over to see how the goat was mourning his sister but very respectful, needless to say we had to get a friend for him later on.

If there is a Heaven, which I don't believe, then as near as I can tell, dogs are the only beings on Earth worthy of a place there.

i feel for the dog but it lets us now that if a animal can be that compassionate then we humans can be to

Bless Bella. She has the heart that I must confess, the odds of walking by five people with that love in one is impossible. It didn't matter what was going to happen around her. Even if you three her favorite toy, it so obvious how much she loved him. I cried, and don't think I can handle watching the heart breaking video again. So sad. So sorry Bella..<3

How can people say animals do not have feelings or feel pain. This is perfect example and i have seen many others, cats, birds, insects, they show compassion to species other than their own. I have a great deal of respect for animals they do not try to hide their feelings. I had a cat who lost her mate and screamed over his grave. It is about time mankind stopped at looked at what animals can teach us.

It's so sad. Animals have the same feelings as we do when they lose a friend. I have seen it too many times in dogs and horses. I just wish that more people could understand that and treat amimals better.

This video broke my heart. We had 2 dogs and on Jan. 21st, we lost our Italian Greyhound when our home burned to the ground. We did get our Afghan Hound out, but she mourned the loss of her little sister something terrible. She looked for her, listened to every dog bark when we had her outside to go potty, and as we moved from a hotel to a temporary condo, she searched each place looking for her little sister, Chloe. Chloe was 9 & became scared when the fire broke out & she hid somewhere in our home & we couldn't find her before the fire got so out of control we had to evacuate. I was screaming & had to be held back from running back into the burning house to try to find her. Losing everything we owned would be much easier if we just had our little girl, Chloe. Watching this video brought back all those memories & I will never be the same person I was before the fire. I feel like I let my little Chloe down when she needed me the most. We're adopting two 6 yr. old IG's soon, so our Afghan won't be an only "child" for much longer. This just proves that we ALL - Including Dogs - Mourn the loss of our Loved Ones.
