A young bear was discovered with a wounded shoulder Monday on the grounds of Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, according to officials of an animal rescue organization.

According to the Bear League Facebook page, the bear had a bloody shoulder and two small wounds but no bullet was found when a veterinarian examined him.

He was believed to be the same bear seen in a viral video in December running across a ski run at Heavenly.

The rescue organization said the bear only weighs 49 pounds and is likely a yearling.

He was transferred to the Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care facility for further treatment.

Please Note: From a handful of people in 1978 with an idea to help wildlife in their area, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care has grown to an organization that now provides a service to more than nine counties in California and Nevada surrounding the Lake Tahoe region.

I heard the bear is going to be just fine, thanks to the rescue efforts. He probably would have died or been crippled if he wasn't found..God bless Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care!
