"Millennia of humans have gathered around fires to hear words that transferred hard-won wisdom and allowed dreams of unlimited possibilities. In a modern world that limits wisdom to 'facts,' and women's access even to those, Dr. Estes has restored the fire-for us all." Gloria Steinem, author of Revolution from Within.

All strong women who believe the Spirit heals.. who believe in spirituality, myth and medicine of the soul, should read this amazing work. It is a truly profound spiritual testimony to the Wild Wolf Woman within!
....Selkywolf...

A healthy woman is much like a wolf - strong life force, life-giving, territorily aware, intuitive and loyal. Yet separation from her wildish nature causes a woman to become meager, anxious, and fearful.

With the wild nature as ally and teacher, we see not through two eyes only, but through the many eyes of intuition. With intuition we are like the starry night, we gaze at the world through a thousand eyes. The wild nature carries the medicine for all things.

She carries stories, dreams, words and songs. She carries everything a woman needs to be and know. She is the essence of the female soul...

It does not mean to lose one's primary socializations. It means quite the opposite. The wild nature has a vast integrity to it. It means to establish territory, to find one's pack, to be in one's body with certainty and pride, to speak and act in one's behalf, to be alert, and to find what one belongs to. It means to rise with dignity, to proceed as a powerful being who is friendly but never tame.

The Wild Woman is the one who thunders in the face of injustice. She is the one who keeps a woman going when she thinks she's done for.

She is intuition, far-seer, deep listener, and she is loyal heart. She thrives on fresh site, and self-integrity.

Where can you find her? She walks in the deserts, cities, woods, oceans, and in the mountain of solitude. She lives in women everywhere; in castles with queens, in the boardrooms, in the penthouse, and on the night bus to Brownsville.

Whether you are possessed of a simple heart or the ambitious, whether you are trying to make it to the top or just make it through tomorrow, the wild nature belongs to you.

She lives in a faraway place that breaks through to our world. She lives in the past and is summoned by us. She is in the present. She is in the future and walks backward in time to find us now.

Without us, Wild Woman dies. Without Wild Woman, we die. Para Vida, for true life, both must live.

I think it's interesting that the war on women in the US and the rise in wolf hunting are not a coincidence. On some deep unconscious level, there is an unfortunate partnership happening between those two.

It frustrates me that women can come up to wolves, and wolf dogs, that I have been trying for years to win their trust. I work at shelters, and feed them hundreds of $ worth of jerky, hot dogs, chicken etc. Most I can win over with time and patience, but some i cannot. Women can walk right up to these animals. I suppose men have hurt them over time and they will never trust us again.

Wolves and women have always had a special bond. I can attest to this for it is a wolf I would trust with my life. They can see through you into your soul and sense if you are worthy of their trust in you..

Cried floods when I saw this, stirred deep inside, probably the Wild Woman was touched, sick of being trapped. And the big deep love for these animals...!!

As a lifelong student of the wolf & a woman, I too would trust this magnificent creature with my life. The only question: As a human do I deserve the trust of the wolf in return? Just as humans fear other humans, the wolf rightly fears humans in their struggle to live.

When my children were very small the Stoney had a small animal display where they ahd fenced enclosures with native wildlife. The was this beautiful female wolf in this pen (which was incredibly a sad and bad situation for her). She would stay in the background and growl whenever others came near. I stood by the fence with my children and talked to her telling her how I felt and how beautiful she was and we spend time watching each other. After awhile she went inside this box enclosure in her pen and one by one brought out her cubs and lined them up on the other side of the fence from us. It was so magical that we could share the wonder of our young together peacefully with love. As soon as she heard another group come by she quickly hid the cubs again. It still upsets me to day that I could not help her, but it was a very powerful connection with the wolf.

I too cried. I lived with a wolf (Sirius) for 10 years before he got cancer. Sirius taught me many things in those 10 years. It has been 10 yrs since he left, and I can not seem to be able to get close to a canine, it is just not the same kind of love and devotion.

Pandora, thank you for your words, I think you are so right. I hope that more women will become aware of the wolf culls and stand to protect our sisters and brothers.

Does this mean the love and obsession with the majestic wolves I have is for a reason?? This room is full of wolves. I have items of clothing with wolves on them, including a jacket.. I have turquoise set paws in silver jewelry.. They are my background on my phone; their howl is my ringtone. I have files of images, and subscribe to the Wolf Conservation Center where I've watched them via webcam, and hope to catch the new cubs soon to be born there.. I am a loco lobo ;) 🐺

Her name is Jamie Dutcher, and her and Jim Dutcher are 2 of the most greatest contributers to Wolf research. I would highly recommend looking them up, or the Sawtooth Pack, or now know as the Nez Perce tribe wolf pack. Their work was done years ago but their video "Living With Wolves" is an amazing story. I'd link the music video I made with clips from all of their movies but I don't like "advertising" per say on other peoples sites

Wonderful, moving and inspiring. I am so jealous and wish I could be there with the pack. I have my own pack (loving husband and cutey kitty who is like a mini wolf) but just sometimes I feel I need to 'return' to the wild. To go dig in the dirt and forage and roll around in the earth...is that weird?

Thank you for the love and strength... the wolf spirit is strong ; since 2012 women will find their own strength as they bond together in their own pack and find the wolf spirit within. Then perhaps we will be able to bring the killing to an end.

Wolves play a very integregal part in our eco -world, in our wilderness, what is left of it. I have known the wolves, especially the long fur, black as coal wolf pack, from a past life time. Oh yes, and they knew me. Have you seen how a large dog who is excited to see you, after you've been away and just came back?
That kind of dog or dogs, who love you and watch for your return, tend to do this type of prancing ,so to speak, because he, or they are so incredibly happy to see you again! They just want to be near you, actually they want a hug!!! Now That, is exactly what our wolf friends do; when you've given them a chance to know you, and yes, to love you. We MUST protect our wild lands all over the world, in order to sustain, not only wildlife, but medicines that grow there. Ask any ecologist worth his salt, and he/she will tell you this is the truth! Guess what The wolves play a huge part in all of it. Aint life grand when you lay it out on a larger scale, and look at it for what it is? Believe me, there is more, so very much more. We as people, very much need the wolves and they need us. Usually a elf pack will shy away from humans, and it's been proven and documented that the packs have found lost human babies and protected them until they were close enough to a human shelter I guess they could trust, where they let the baby be found. Wolves also DO NOT KILL any healthy cattle or sheep; they only take the old that are dieing, or animals who are sick PERIOD! !!! Please, look it up. This has all been documented. Let's come together, open our minds, and leave our guns at home. And maybe just maybe, pick up our pens instead!!! God Bless Mother Nature, & God Bless The Wolf!!!

I was fortunate to see a ghostly white wolf in the wee hours one morning!! It lifted my spirits to see it move. I will never forget it,and it gave me the strength i needed at that time. Women have more intuitive feelings and connections with the earth and wildlife, that's why we women can approach these creatures. They feel us,know our intention, and accept us for what we are-wolf lovers!!.

I loved it! I teared up after the video was over because it made me feel like I was so domesticated and caged that I cannot let the real me be me. I am full of life and desire the freedom of the wolves! As animals are wild, there is wild inside of me that I want to express outwardly, but most people think you're a nut! Unfortunate as it may be, I love to dance and let whatever music is playing move me, not me to the music and there is a difference! I am kind, caring, watchful and don't let others hurt the ones I care about. I feel a commonality with this video. Thank you for this opportunity to view it.

Anything wild and free is being attacked these days, from Horses to dogs, cats, wolves, even cattle, pigs and goats, donkeys, like women like all are individual thinkers..spiritual and intuitive. However man knows that he can control it all, instead of just letting the natural course of life take place. Everything always evens out, in time. Men today have no patience to wait and just let it be. They have to control everything and everyone including the voiceless animals so we have to speak for them be strong and proud as they are. They die without a word but a howling in the night, for the loss of there babies and mates..With no solutions but to continue to be, so very sad wolves are such a important part of all of our eco system.

I too felt drawn towards Wolves since forever I guess. I had a Wolf/dog and a Siberian Husky. They were so Wolf like, people would drive up to the house but not get out of the car until I went outside. Autumn was like a gray Wolf, but Zeus was much bigger, over 100 lbs., and darker colors. Autumn was kind of goofy, Zeus was more alert and cautious. He loved playing in the snow with me, especially if I was snowshoeing. One day I made a terrible mistake and left Autumn on her 'run line' while I went to get water for my chickens. In the time it took to get the water, Autumn had gotten off her line and had killed all but 2 chickens. It wasn't her fault but I let her know I was angry. It's amazing how much strength you have when something like that happens. That dog could get out of anywhere unless it was her kennel. When I watch Wolf videos I'm in awe at how much my dogs were like them. Autumn used to howl back to the Wolves at the back of our property. I wondered what they were saying. My husband went outside one night to make sure the water hose was turned off and when he turned to come in he saw 3 Wolves standing by the shed watching him. Wolves are beautiful, loving, family oriented animals, and we must do whatever we're able to protect them. Wolves should be free and without fear. Man should leave them alone! Enjoyed the video, felt like I should have been there.
