A hidden camera captures the amazing moment of the birth of 6 mexican gray wolf pups.

The Mexican gray wolf is the rarest wolf in the world with only 50 running free. These 6 pups are the first litter born this year and are the only reported captive born litter to date.

These pups are also one of the very rare "multigenerational" packs in captivity. Having multigenerational family pack experience is extremely important to the yearlings and the pups and will teach them skills that will add to their ability to be successful in the wild.

The Mexican gray wolf is a critically endangered, native species that once numbered in the thousands of animals throughout southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, western Texas and northern Mexico.

Its restoration is an opportunity to bring a natural balance and fully functioning ecosystem back to the wild lands of the Southwest. Read on to learn more about the lives of Mexican gray wolves, their tragic history and near-extinction, their role as a top-of-the-food-chain carnivore and their present constricted range.

I have owned a white wolf. They start out extremely timid around people, but soon become a member of the pack- Mom, Dad and baby. Beautiful loving animals.
