Cub rescued after climbing 40 feet up a tree when its head became stuck in a cookie jar

This hungry bear cub’s sweet tooth landed him in trouble when he got his head stuck in an oversized cookie jar.

The frightened six-month-old cub was spotted with the jar on his head wandering around Ringwood, New Jersey, on June 27. ‘He was trying to eat what remained in the jar and pulled the jar over his head,’ said Larry Ragonese, a spokesman for the state’s Department of Environmental Protection.

The 28lb (13kg) animal’s day got worse when he later got stuck 12m up a tree after being spooked.

A department biologist tranquilised the bear and firefighters later removed the jar from his head.

Wait until all his bear mates hear about the day he had.
