Just like in the cartoon, this fox and hound are "best of friends.

" Watch an Arctic Fox wake up a dog who's just trying to get some beauty sleep in a beautiful Icelandic meadow for a little playtime. Wait 'til you see what these two pals get up to next!

Heydalur is a valley covered with birch trees in Mjoifjordur, Isafjardardjup in North West Iceland. The distance to the next town and villages is 130 km. to Isafjordur, 90 km. to Holmavik and 150 km. to Budardalur.

The arctic fox is the only land mammal native to Iceland. It came to the isolated North Atlantic island at the end of the last ice age, walking over the frozen sea.

The Arctic Fox Center in Súðavík contains an exhibition on the arctic fox and conducts studies on the influence of tourism on the population.

The arctic fox has such keen hearing that it can precisely locate the position of prey under the snow. When it finds prey, it pounces and punches through the snow to catch its victim. Its fur changes color with the seasons: in the winter it is white to blend in with snow, while in the summer it is brown.
