A freezing dog has been reunited with her owners after nearly a week stranded on a frozen lake!

The young black Labrador named Kimberly ran away from her home in Lorain, Ohio and ended up 18 miles (30 km) away on Lake Erie.

After an unsuccessful attempst by firefighters and the Coast Guard to rescue her due to poor weather conditions, a crew from WKYC hired an airboat to take them out onto the lake on Friday to see if they could help rescue the poor dog.

Kimberly ran away from the noisy boat at first until the cameraman reached down and pulled her up into the boat. She right away snuggled into one of her rescuers.

“This was one of the greatest moments in terms of being happy about a story turning out the right way,” said WKYC reporter Mike O’Mara. The news team described the family reunion between Kimberly and her family as "very, very sweet."
