Some people might say that rescuing and rehabilitating animals is a thankless job, but nothing could be further from the truth. Watching an animal recover from dire straights is its own reward, not to mention, animals express gratitude in their own special way!

The goat in this video was the runt of the litter. While goats are usually able to walk shortly after being born, this little one was having a bit of trouble. Luckily, her human mom was there to help hold her up! Once the baby finally got stable, she gave her helper a giant goat kiss!

She was clearly very excited to walk – her tail was wagging so fast you almost couldn’t see it! Goats are notorious for being curious animals so, of course, she was raring to go explore.

Goats have an intensely inquisitive and intelligent nature; they will explore anything new or unfamiliar in their surroundings. They do so primarily with their prehensile upper lip and tongue. This is why they investigate items such as buttons, camera cases or clothing (and many other things besides) by nibbling at them, occasionally even eating them.

Goats are extremely curious and intelligent. They are also very coordinated and widely known for their ability to climb and hold their balance in the most precarious places.

Probably thirsty, and searching for the milk from the mother-goat. But it's a beautiful little one.
