A group of animal rescuers were forced to act in double speed in order to free a deer that had become entangled in an electric fence.

The roe buck had managed to get its antlers caught the ropes of the fence and was frantically trying to free itself.

Fortunately, the rescuers arrived at the property in Duddleswell, East Sussex, in time and freed the animal before it suffered a heart attack from the stress.

The deer was spotted in the dangerous predicament on the edge of a private property.

The landowner called the East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) for help and the volunteers managed to free the animal in just minutes.

'The caller did exactly the right thing when she found the deer and backed off slowly and kept out of view allowing the deer to settle and relax.
