A video of two rescued foxes giggling and laughing when getting belly rubs is spreading happiness to millions of viewers. The foxes, Finnegan and Dixiedo, were rescued from fur farms as are all the foxes at the Save A Fox Rescue sanctuary.

As their rescuer comes to visit with them, Finnegan and Dixiedo get excited and roll onto their bellies to get petted. Finnegan lets out a “ha-ha-ha-ha,” which is how foxes communicate happiness and greetings.

Save A Fox is the largest fox rescue in the USA. “We are a domestic fox rescue. What does this mean? We rescue foxes from fur farms and take in pet surrenders. All these foxes were born in captivity and could never be released so it is our job to give them a happy life,” Save A Fox explains on YouTube.

They do adopt their foxes, but have conditions to ensure the foxes are well looked after and that their new guardians are legally allowed to own them. It’s important to know what to expect in caring for a fox as they are a lot of work.

Juniper the fox became an Internet sensation after appearing on social media; but her mom cautions that foxes are not all cute and cuddly. They smell, are stubborn, and require a lot of special care to keep them healthy and happy.

Red foxes (Vulpes vulpes), the most common foxes throughout the world, have a wide variety of vocalizations, with as many as 20 different calls depending on how one defines them, said Stephen Harris, a biologist at the University of Bristol, England, who has studied their vocalizations. They use these calls to find mates, interact with rivals and communicate within their family groups. This variety befits their role as highly social mammals, Harris told LiveScience.

Foxes communicate with each other in a variety of ways. As in the domestic dog and many other carnivores, many different facial expressions and body postures are used. Friendly greetings such as tail wagging are used when meeting family members

What cuties! They had me laughing too! Thankfully these foxes were saved. Fur farms should be totally banned. No need for fur in this day and age. Synthetic furs are lighter, cheaper, cleaner, come in a variety of patterns and colours and don't dry out. No animals should be sacrificed for fashion.

I had some lovely times with the foxes at Wolf Park. I would go sit by their little water fall and read to them. If I had something they really wanted I would be covered in foxes. I would tell the people that was the proper way to wear fur.
