A documentary about a group of female shamans who call themselves the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers.

Synopsis:

In 2004, thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers from all four corners, moved by their concern for our planet, came together at a historic gathering, where they decided to form an alliance: The International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers.

This is their story. Four years in-the-making and shot on location in the Amazon rainforest, the mountains of Mexico, North America, and at a private meeting with the Dalai Lama in India, For the Next 7 Generations follows what happens when these wise women unite.

Facing a world in crisis, they share with us their visions of healing and a call for change now, before it’s too late. This film documents their unparalleled journey and timely perspectives on a timeless wisdom.

Grandmother's Mission Statement:

"We, the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers, represent a global alliance of prayer, education and healing for our Mother Earth, all her inhabitants, all the children, and for the next seven generations to come. We are deeply concerned with the unprecedented destruction of our Mother Earth and the destruction of indigenous ways of life.

We believe the teachings of our ancestors will light the way through an uncertain future. We look to further our vision through the realization of projects that protect our diverse cultures: lands, medicines, language and ceremonial ways of prayer and through projects that educate and nurture our children."

The most important thing to be changed in order to change is the World Economic System. Money is invented by humanity and has no significant real value in itself at all. But almost all human action which is now destructing Earth's ecosystems is caused by the 'hunger' for money. Therefore; Trade in money (stock markets, lending money for profit) has to be banned out of the world. Money schould only be used as a means to pay.

  17. will the film be available at other sources like netflix?

I grew up as an American Caucasian, but have since learned I have Micmac, Kaskaskia, and Choctaw in my blood. I had a calling also and created this to help those to learn growing food and the medicinal qualities of plants. I would like to create more of these with other indigenous plants. You can contact me at sledoux@gmail.com if you want to help with this indeavor

I have been educating myself, learning about how I could communicate with mother earth and all of our cousins, such as the the standing ones, stone people etc. I totally understand the concept of how important our earth mother is, n see that she is being taken for granted. The respect has diminished where giving back no longer exists. The humans just keeping taking, taking, taking. Mother earth has been paying the price far too long for the concept of greed. I was always taught to only take what I need and to give back when something is given to me. It saddens me to see what's happening in the world today. I often told my friends n family how I'm ashamed to be in the human species cause of the acts and practices that are happening in our modern world. Our flyers swimmers 4 legged and two legged are paying the price of human greed. Ourveartg mother has been sacrificing for the human greed far too long. I agree the time is now!
