I have always felt a kinship with the hummingbird.
I have always loved the Hummingbird. Humans could learn so much from nature if they would just take a few moments every day to watch it in action.
I didn't know much of what I read here before. I knew my ancestors were the keepers of these ways but as you stated, many of the old ways have been forgotten. I am from a northeastern tribe that traveled the rivers in birch bark canoes. The Kennebec river in Maine, USA is near where our tribes settled. I still live closely to it. The ruby throated hummingbird arrives in April each year. I enjoy watching them come to my feeder especially in the rain.
