Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe. The leader of the Lakota Dakota Nakota Oyate, the great Sioux nation, is a man with a vision.

A Great Urgency: To All World Religious and Spiritual Leaders

My Relatives,

Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer.

We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things.

The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make.

I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies.

I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth.

As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc¹I Maka), and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on.

As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life.

So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember World Peace and Prayer Day/ Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children¹s future and well-being, and the generations to come.

Onipikte (that we shall live),

Chief Arvol Looking Horse sees a great danger threatening "Grandmother Earth" and a great hope for restoring her wholeness. So he is calling all nations to prayer of any kind in an effort to return the planet to balance, the people to spirit. I asked him why this path is the right path to take. "A man or a woman without spirit is very dangerous," Looking Horse explained in a recent phone interview.

According to this Sioux chief, the absence of spirit is causing suffering everywhere. "We are in a time of survival," he said. "But we don't want to believe it because we have forgotten our spirits. We have forgotten that Grandmother Earth has a spirit." Disconnected souls are hurting others without even knowing they are hurting others." Those being hurt include animals, trees and waterways. The Sioux have an inclusive worldview, but it was not shared by the transplanted Europeans who undertook genocide on Indian land, culminating in the Wounded Knee massacre of 1890.

That final brutality broke the "hoop" binding Indians together; however, Sioux prophecy foretold that in a hundred years the people would be reunited. Although surviving tribe members and their descendants were stripped of religious freedoms (returned to them only 32 year ago by the U.S. government), the rituals were kept and the prophecy not forgotten. So the Sioux nations set out on horseback to "mend the broken hoop" of their nation in 1986 at a sacred site known to non-Indians as Devils Tower or the Great Horn Butte; their ritual went on for four years and concluded in 1990, 100 years after Wounded Knee. During the course of that long ritual, Looking Horse was surprised by a vision that came to him of peace and unity that included not only the Indian nations but all the nations of the world, each gathering with ritual plants around sacred fires on every continent.

The Sioux chief felt called to oversee a much broader mending. But who was going to listen even to the chief of a people largely ignored in the country where they lived? "It's everyday life for us that we hold Grandmother Earth sacred, we hold the trees and the plants, everything has a spirit. We need people to be really respectful for each other. The Great Spirit put us here all together. If we're going to survive, we need to have spirit and compassion. We're asking people to go to their sacred places or sacred spaces to pray.

I wish that the leaders of this nation had the wisdom of this man; I further wish that they had his generosity of spirit and love for this world. For a man representative of a People that should hold nothing but hate and contempt for the wrongs done to them, I see instead a wise soul reaching out for all our common good.

I have always felt a connection to the land. That was before I found out that my ancestors, both paternal and maternal, were farmers. And then I found out that my great, great grandfather was a Native American chief of the Cherokee nation. I have always thought that we need to take care of the lowest of the earth; animals, birds, even the lowly insects. We all have a job to do on this earth, our first being to take care of the very earth that sustains us. If we neglect to do this any longer, we will not only destroy the earth but ourselves along with her.

Spread the word because we are out numbered. Im bout to make peace on war, and those who are ignorant andor oppose peace. They may find themselves resting in it. We all know who that may be.

Thank you Chief Arvol Looking Horse for you spiritual leadership and true vision which I myself can verify. I Little Crab of mixed decent,( great, great, grandmother on my mothers side was full Alabama Indian, and I have blood of several European cultures such as French, Irish, Italian, etc..).. I follow the path that the ancestors laid out and I have so much love and guidance from them. White sacred cockaroach even appeared a few days ago and we are exterminating a lot of them to live here, I now know to pray for thanks and forgiveness and remember to give love and respect to even the lowliest of creatures of the Earth UNCIMKA. Yes, the vision was correct, all nations have joined in prayer for the uplifting of our souls during this time. Even Jesus the Jewish prophet and evolved soul said in the bible Matthew 3:9 that even the stones have the spirit of God. Love and peace, My sacred space and prayer are cleansed and lifted up.

Living the old way - with a close connection to the earth and nature has given much pleasure - and living a very healthy life. We should listen and accept guidance from those who have always lived this way - down thru time

Anonymous 10: We are not outnumbered. The powerful use communications and money to make us think that we are outnumbered. But all we have to do is pull together and cooperate with each other. The success of this growing global cooperation was predicted decades ago. It would appear that evil is winning out over good, but at a critical juncture, the people opposing evil win out and we live in peace with mother earth. If we stop believing that we are different from one another, the evil global power structure will collapse.

Aho ... may it be as the Elder says. We live in a time of great darkness and spiritual blindness, on a sacred land that has fallen into desolation. If we fail to act now, woe unto the world of flesh and blood; woe unto all who fail to listen to the voices of their ancestors.

We are living in a time that evil is battling against goodness, but there is Creator that will allow balance to be. Any action has reaction, only the unity of the all can win this battle. Visits of teachers with books in their hands that I believe are instructions that are being spread through the spiritual world to guide us to a peaceful living with each other and back to respecting and revering Mother Earth who has given us all that we have. Thank you for your call to united prayers.

Hope we are on time... the good and noble should triumph "from the center which we call the race of men, let the Plan of Love and Light work out and may it seal the door where evil dwells. Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth."

Pilamiya, Chief Looking Horse, I pray that spiritual leaders everywhere will heed the call and pray for unity and peace with all races of people. Those animal, bird, water dwellers, insects, stone people, cloud people, star people and all the others will be lost as will we two-legged people if we don't all come together in spiritual unity. If we human beings can't come together as one mind, one heart and decide to replenish and bring Unci Maka back to her prime, before we began to rape her for all the mineral wealth, the fossil fuels and all else she could give US, we will surely live to regret it for a while before even we, go the way of the Dodo Bird and the dinosaurs. It is my fervent hope that we can all follow those who are trying to save Mother Earth and know that e will be leaving our children and grand children a future, not a wasteland with no hope of recovering from our mistakes! Mitakuye Oyasin.

I really don't understand.... People sound so supportive in comments when they write in response to climate change and issues like the pipeline and the sad state of our food supply.... yet still they continue to vote in a Congress and Senate that are are determined to continue taking us down this path of self distruction. I am sorry ... I just don't get it.

I'm no chief, no spirit walker, no one of any importance. But walk upon this Earth with open eyes and heart in a far distant land. And I too pray that the human race listens to Gaia-Grandmother-Nature-God, before it is too late, and all that is wonderful in this Universe is lost to us, our children and their children.

The time is now. When men are killing all the animals a new tribe will arise, fromm all over the world, all ages, men and women, called the Rainbow Tribe, to change these ways to assist and heal Mother Earth- so the prophecy! I am from Switzerland, was on a vision quest and was given the Name Rainbow Raven, here to protect Innocence. Since then I am continuously and humbly working for the Great Change, together with many others, newly spiritually awakened people. We are becoming more and more. Stop saying `one should...` or `I hope that...` - be positive and say `Yes, I will do whatever I can to better this Planet`! Nothing is too small, even if only you decide to use less Plastic or even spend more time out in Nature, or play more with your children or pets !
Be positive and seek likeminded people, and this multiplies the good efforts/work! WE ARE ALL CONNECTED !

  33. Kia ora, I am of Maaori descent from New Zealand and I wanted to share a special and privileged moment I experienced in 2013 whilst visiting Vancouver Canada for study. During our visit we met Tsleil-Waututh Sundance Chief Reuben George who shared with us the challenges and hope for the future of the land and the people. During his talk I could feel my entire body heating up as though I were sitting in a sauna. Little did I know that I would be sitting in Chief Reuben's sweat lodge. On the 6th day of the tour, October 21st 2013 we attended Chief Reuben George sweat lodge. The experience was challenging & life altering. The first sweat was unbelievably hot with the heat intensifying progressively with each session. By the fourth sweat the heat was so intense I thought I was going to pass out from the burning hot. It was during the fourth sweat that I had what I refer to as a vision. In the vision I saw a beautiful First Nations woman dressed in white regalia with white regalia in her hair which was parted in the middle. She was standing in a forest of young green cedar trees looking up to the canopy standing on a carpet of snow. By her side stood a white wolf. I shared my experience Chief Reuben George’s mum Ta’a who said the woman in my vision sounded like the medicine woman of folk lore from the Lakota (Sioux). Ta’a told me to wait 4 days for the understanding. That vision has stayed withh me from that time but a few years later I met a Sioux Chief who was from the Wolf Clan at a conference in Hamilton New Zealand. Our meeting was not coincidental and for some reason the wairua or spirit compelled me to share my vision with him. Why did she come to me? I have no idea but she came with a message and we only need to look at the current state of our global environment with global warming, war and a worldwide pandemic. Despite this we as individual guardians and/orleaders have an opportunity to collaborate with our own people, people locally, nationally and internationally to create connected strong resilient communities aimed to supporting positive messages of care and protection for 'papa tuaanuku' or mother earth and all her inhabitants. Ngaa manaakiatanga o te Atua ki a koutou katoa, blessings from the creator to all.
