Our Elders share some interesting scary stories they learned growing up back then.

The Cherokee Nation tapped some of their elders to tell some spooky Halloween stories they learned or experienced growing up.

In this first video Cherokee Elders Patricia Pritchett and Blue Hothouse weave some spine-tingling tales. Hothouse tells of a spirit still wandering a cemetery keeping an eye on misbehaving kids.

This second video features Cherokee Elder Eli Sequiche telling viewers about a headless boogeyman with a black shadow that you don’t want to come face to face with.

This video also has Cherokee Elder Nancy Adair recounting more tales of a headless figure and a headless horseman.
