Wolf Haven International is so pleased to announce that Tamaska & Jacob are the proud parents of a new red wolf pup!

The pup, born Easter Sunday, is extremely valuable to the endangered red wolf population. He or she is the only pup ever born to this pair, who have been together for the last 4 breeding seasons. Tamaska, the mother is 8 yrs old & Jacob, the father, is 9 yrs.

Tamaska whelped in her natural den (where there is no camera) but she periodically moves the pup between her den and the shelter. The pup is still blind and deaf but his/her eyes should be opening any day now... hello world!

Wolf Haven International is a nationally recognized wolf sanctuary that has rescued and provided a lifetime home for over 170 displaced, captive-born animals since 1982. Guided walking tours offer visitors a rare, close-up view of wolves. Wolf Haven provides a variety of educational programs, participates in multi-agency Species Survival Plan programs for critically endangered wolves and advocates for wolves in the wild.

Visitors can also follow a walking trail through beautiful native Mima Mound prairie and enjoy the native flowers, birds, butterflies that can be found there. Wolf Haven is located in South Puget Sound, between Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. Please call or check the website before coming to visit to ensure that Wolf Haven is open that day. Wolf Haven operates under a seasonal schedule.
