~ Chief Phil Lane Jr. - Ihanktonwan Dakota and Chickasaw Nations

For more than 160 years the Prophecy of the White Buffalo has been kept within the Magaska Ptesan Wicoti, Hinhan Wicasa Oyate.

It was carried by Mato Gi, Phil Lane Sr., who was named by his grandfather Tipi Sapa after his older brother rode the Bay Horse and slayed the White Buffalo Bull, as prophesied.

“My Grandfather Vine Deloria Sr. and my Uncle Wilfred Cadotte told me this prophecy often, as well as my father, Mato Gi,” Chief Phil Lane Jr., Ihanktonwan Dakota and Chickasaw Nations, says in the introduction to the video.

He begins by sharing some words of wisdom: “How do you know what hatred is if you live in love,” says Chief Lane in the video.

“How do you know what the destruction of Mother Earth is when you only respect her and love her.”
