Giant panda cub Bao Bao's first day in the snow

It's official: Few things are cuter than a fluffy ball of giant panda discovering the distinct delight of snow for the first time.

With the year's inaugural dumping of powder in Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian National Zoo's 16-month old giant panda cub, Bao Bao, took to the flurries with glee.

While her trainers have described her as independent and sassy, the capital's reigning panda princess drops all pretenses as she rolls and romps and tumbles and pounces for much of the morning with mom, Mei Xiang.

Bao Bao was simply overwhelmed by the delightfulness of it all.
