"As a resident of Canmore Alberta I have had some amazing and unforgettable experiences in the wild.

They are curious but just can't be bothered. That is good.

There was very deep snowpack that year, so many were on roads, it was claimed by some in Alberta that photographers were baiting them. Very beautiful shots, but not good that they aren't afraid of a vehicle. Too many poachers and trophy hunters in Alberta.

I read a very deep study of ALL incidents in the US and Canada involving wolves..(bites, stalking etc) and a majority of the incidents happened because tourists (or photographers) had baited or fed the animals to get better shots...they got used to be fed and lost their natural fear and reserve. Animals need to be protected from US...only our own stupidity and the animals suffer and will be killed.

I think I got this right. The front were seekers, middle aged and rear the protectors. The middle one was old for sure. It's gate was very slow and measured. The back 3 were curious but pensive and kept checking with each other. It's so cool to see such wonderful beings out doing their thing. I'm glad the photographer just let them pass without bating or anything like that.

  9. Awesome to experience these beautiful living beings. Love the wolf lope. Thank you for publishing.

  10. This is very interesting how the wolves show predatory they are, even in the snow. The front group provide the seeking with the others providing backup.

  11. What a wonderful encounter

Such dangerous animals... NOT! Unlike man, they only kill when they're hungry, and need to eat and feed their families. Leave them alone, and they will leave you alone. After having a high-content wolf dog, I found them to be kind, loving, trustworthy, and the best guard dog ever! We felt very safe with him in our house... and if I lived in a legal state, I would love to have another, or even a full wolf. Treat them with kindness, love and respect, and feed them well, they have no reason to do anyone any harm!
