German photographer explains in his own words how he learned to take good photographs of his favorite subject, the wolves.
"The most important thing to me are happily combined subjects. For example, my love for animals has led me to become a photographer, but the combination of animals and the camera is a challenge for me.
You can't force an animal to do something. This is both an advantage and disadvantage. With animals there is no second chance nor can you really prepare for the shoot.
What good is great weather, the perfect backdrop and an excellent image detail, when the main character is taking a nap behind a tree.
Speed and fast reflexes are needed here. A good camera and a fast lens is not absolutely necessary, but it simplifies the work immensely. To compensate for difficult animal shots, I also like to work with buildings or "models"." (Source)

People put others down in an attempt to justify how they intend to treat them and they want others to treat them the same way too as it helps or protects their interests. Classic example of this is the derision of wolves as being ruthless killers which is just to justify hunting them because they may be a threat to their stock AKA profit. Well, the answer to that is build adequate fences and protect your stock properly. If you're going to graze your stock in wolf territory, then what do you expect? Of course they're going to see them as an easy meal. When wolves make a kill, it may look horrific but what's the alternative? Starve? Humans would be the same if we didn't have supermarkets, knives or guns. We'd dispatch our food in whatever way we could regardless of how cruel or horrific it may be. Wolves are just doing whatever other carnivore you'd care to mention would. In reality wolves can be exquisitely gentle and are highly intelligent and perceptive. There are countless videos, photos etc. of people interacting with wolves who are no danger to them whatsoever. The Australian dingo is similar. Highly intelligent and just as playful as a domesticated dog as that's how I found them when I did. I swear they understand English. I'd love to have the same opportunity with wolves.
