Saving a German Shepherd abandoned in the desert.

Hope for Paws recently released this uplifting video featuring the epic rescue of a white German shepherd, named Venus.

She had been abandoned in the desert and over a period of four months, a team of rescuers from Hope for Paws had been attempting to save her, to no avail. Thankfully, as the video shows, the team was finally able to capture the abandoned pup and give her the happy ending she deserves.

With poor Venus so close to a roadway and with desert temperatures soaring to well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the team knew that it was just a matter of time before something terrible happened to her.

Because she refused to enter any of the food traps they had left for her, the team had to resort to sedation to get her into their care. While this was certainly no easy task, it just goes to show the incredible lengths that these kind humans will go to protect and save animals. We repeat, grab the tissues!

All ends well in the video, but Venus’ rescue story is not over – Venus is still looking for her fur-ever home!

Thank God, and Hope for Paws. There are signs in the desert just before the California border, saying that it is absolutely illegal to drop your pets off in the desert. What kind of person would do this? If only they could be caught, and prosecuted.

I would adopt Venus. My dog is a lot like her and they would be forever friends.
