Little Puppy Rescued After Falling Into a Drain

A small puppy was rescued Thursday afternoon after she fell into a Pompano Beach pipe.

Firefighters were able to pull the 2-week-old, 6-pound Havanese puppy named Lucy from the pipe after she fell inside.

The dog's owner said Lucy was not on her leash, darted toward bushes and fell into the pipe.

Pompano Beach Firefighters used their hands to dig around the pipe and dangled her leash to try to get her in view. Firefighter Paramedic Louis Padilla was able to lasso the puppy with the leash around her body and pull her to safety.

Paramedics used a child oxygen face mask to help revive the dog. Lucy was tired and wet but wasn't hurt.
